Kurt Garrison is a self taught guitarist who’s been playing for nearly 25 years.
He came to us with a solid knowledge of the fundamentals and was looking to expand his understanding of the instrument and “tie it all together”.
Given his years of experience, Kurt had developed good dexterity on the instrument which allowed us to help fill in his knowledge gap and propel his playing to the next level.
All it took was some accountability and a little support to expand his framework for what is possible on guitar.
Basic chords turned into triads, then came inversions, and before he knew it, his understanding of the fretboard blossomed and he saw choice and possibility rather than a series of memorized patterns.
This lead to better arrangements, more melodic progressions and a fluidity in his playing that he had always envisioned for himself.
